Anjelica Martinez, AMFT

Therapist

Anjelica Martinez joined Azure Acres as a Counselor in October 2023 and transitioned to a therapist role in December 2023. Anjelica has a passion for being of service to those navigating mental health and substance use challenges and is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the clinical team at Azure Acres.

Anjelica began her career 8+ years ago in 2015 while receiving her BA in psychology at Sonoma State University. She had the opportunity to work in residential treatment as a counselor, working with adult’s living with severe mental illness at a local nonprofit called Progress Foundation. Anjelica also interned at this time with Forget me not Farm in service of youth who have experienced trauma. She began to discover that working with people at every stage of their healing process brought her a sense of fulfillment and led her to pursue a career as a psychotherapist.

Anjelica received her masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in 2023 to pursue licensure as a marriage and family therapist. While in her studies, Anjelica continued to work with nonprofits and county programs in California including Turning Point Community Programs, Stanislaus Recovery Center, and Center For Human Services. Every opportunity inspired her to continue working with people who are underserved by mental/behavioral health resources. Anjelica is a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who believes in equitable care for all folx.

In her free time Anjelica enjoys visiting family, spending time in nature, and being in the comfort of her home engaging in restful self-care.
