Drug & Alcohol Addiction Treatment Programs

Located in Sonoma County, California, and housed in a historic lodge that was built in 1906, Azure Acres Treatment Center has been providing life-changing drug and alcohol addiction treatment since 1959.

Understanding Our Treatment Programs at Azure Acres

Today, Azure Acres provides several levels of care for adult men and women, ages 18 and older, who have been struggling with substance abuse and chemical dependency. Azure Acres also offers treatment programs for adults with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorders who are also experiencing certain mental health disorders. For these individuals we have a co-occurring track available.

Befitting a program that has been offering treatment for more than five decades, Azure Acres employs time-tested therapeutics and embraces the traditions and principles of the 12-Step recovery model. Through the years, we have also made a practice of incorporating research-based and evidence-supported advancements in treatment techniques. At Azure Acres, treatment is a dynamic experience that blends a half-century of experience and success with an ongoing commitment to continued self-improvement. The result is a truly unique and highly successful treatment opportunity.

Our Full Continuum of Care

Depending upon an individual’s specific needs, his or her experience at Azure Acres, located near Santa Rosa, California, may feature the following elements:

Detoxification: The first step in overcoming chemical dependency is ridding one’s body of the substance or substances that one has been abusing. Depending on the nature and severity of an individual’s addiction, it may be extremely difficult to accomplish this without professional help. At Azure Acres, individuals can complete the withdrawal process under the close supervision of addiction experts. When the detox process is complete, the individual can transition directly into residential treatment.

Residential Treatment: Residential treatment can be an essential step on the path of lifelong recovery. While in residence at Azure Acres, recovering individuals will participate in individual therapy, group therapy, family education sessions, and a variety of therapies, including DBT. Residential treatment at Azure Acres is guided by a variety of therapeutic modalities, including crisis intervention, psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and  client-centered therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Individuals who have completed residential treatment either with us or at another program, and who can benefit from a step-down level of care prior to returning home, may be best served by participating in an intensive outpatient program, or IOP. Azure Acres provides IOP at two northern California locations, one in Sacramento and one in Santa Rosa. Both locations offer four three-hour treatment sessions each week for a total of 12 weekly hours of IOP services. During IOP, individuals will participate in group therapy and family education sessions. The typical length of stay in IOP with us is six weeks.

Sober Living: For clients who can benefit from continued support as they transition out of care, we also offer a seven-bed sober living program. This substance-free residence, which features an on-site house manager, who is an AOD counselor, is a safe and supportive environment where individuals can gain a stronger foothold in early recovery as they return to work, go back to school, and otherwise engage in a healthy independent lifestyle.

From our detoxification program through our sober living opportunity, the goal of Azure Acres Treatment Center is to provide a full continuum of care that allows us to meet individuals where they are, and provide them with the services and support that they need to achieve their individual treatment goals.
