Amanda joined Azure Acres in October 2022 as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, and is in the process of obtaining her Licensed Clinical in Social Work certification. Amanda completed her Master in Social Work at CSU Long Beach, and was on the Dean’s List every year, graduating with honors. She completed internships at Sonoma County Indian Health Project and with Kaiser Permanente Inpatient Palliative Care team.
Amanda began her career in counseling and social work at Verity, Sonoma County’s Rape Crisis Center after completing her BA, and held roles form volunteer Crisis Line Counselor, Group Facilitator, Counseling Manager & Intake Coordinator, and finally, Director of Operations. After completing her Masters in Social Work, she served as a Legal Aid Social Worker supporting those impacted by disasters. Most recently, she was a Medical Social Worker at Satellite Healthcare providing counseling, case management, and advocacy for those on dialysis due to chronic kidney disease.
Amanda utilizes Rogerian/strength-based/person-in-environment perspectives, CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, and is a trauma-informed provider. Amanda deeply believes in the power of every person to recover and fully live.
